It can start these VMs based on a defined schedule or the user session state, such as when a user logs off or disconnects. This feature helps save costs by shutting down idle session hosts while ensuring availability when needed.
How do I enable Personal Desktop Autoscale?
To enable Personal Desktop Autoscale, you need to create a personal scaling plan in the Azure portal. You can define settings such as whether to start the VM on connection and what actions to take after a user session disconnects or logs off for a specified period. This can be customized across four phases in a day, and you can assign the scaling plan to one or more personal host pools.
Is there an additional cost for using Personal Desktop Autoscale?
No, Personal Desktop Autoscale is included as part of the Azure Virtual Desktop service and does not incur any additional costs, similar to the pool scaling plans that were introduced previously.
